There are a wide range of partnership programs and training initiatives that afford well-trained, young African adults the opportunity to arrange educational stays in European countries and companies. The goals and results differ, in particular regarding sustainability and the scope of these measures. The target companies also benefit from the abilities and instincts of talented employees from different cultural backgrounds. This represents a valuable resource for Europe, especially in these times with a shortage of skilled professionals and the ‘War of Talent’. So, how can we further develop these programs between Europe and Africa to establish productive partnerships? How can Europe support young Africans in applying their expertise to build up companies in their home countries? And how can both continents benefit sustainably from the great potential of a common knowledge initiative?
